About PL Neuro Workshops
PL Neuro workshops are a series of small, invite-only meetings whose purpose is to accelerate the development of next generation technologies – like neural augmentation and human-like AI – in a manner that is targeted to benefit humanity. Toward this goal, PL Neuro workshops bring together a deliberately cross-disciplinary group of scientists, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and philanthropists with technical expertises across multiple disciplines of neuroscience and AI.
The BCI Founders Retreat
The brain-computer interface (BCI) field is entering a decisive decade. New devices are moving from the lab into clinical trials, capital is flowing into the sector, and the founders building these companies are shaping the trajectory of an entire industry. Yet the people driving this work rarely have the space to step back, compare notes candidly, and align on the hard problems they share.
The BCI Founders Retreat brings together the founders and operators building the future of brain-computer interfaces for a few days of focused, off-the-record conversation in a setting designed for depth over spectacle. Away from the noise of conferences and pitch rooms, the retreat is built around candid exchange on the technical, clinical, commercial, and ethical challenges that define the field.
The retreat is organized around a set of driving questions:
- What are the shared technical and regulatory bottlenecks slowing the entire BCI field?
- How do we build the manufacturing, clinical, and talent infrastructure the industry needs?
- What does responsible commercialization look like for neural interface technology?
- How can founders collaborate — on standards, data, and policy — without compromising competitive advantage?
By convening the people closest to these problems, the retreat aims to strengthen the relationships and shared understanding that will let the BCI field advance faster, and more responsibly, than any single company could alone.
