PL Neuro exists to break bottlenecks: to define the milestones neurotech and NeuroAI need, drive the research that shifts what's believed possible, and route talent and capital to some of humanity's hardest and most important problems: neural augmentation, biologically-inspired intelligence, and whole organism emulation.
Neuroscience and AI technologies will qualitatively change the human experience of life.
Within five to ten years, brain–computer interfaces could radically reshape the treatment of brain disorders. Humans and machines may routinely co-process information via neural interfaces that expand cognitive abilities. Human-like AI, far more capable than current models, may integrate into our social and professional lives. Ultimately, we may even recapitulate our individual minds in simulation and thus enable digital forms.
But this future won't arrive by default. Progress is held back by fragmented data, scarce talent, misaligned capital, and regulatory uncertainty.
